Interview with Dr Paul Jourdan and Gregor Paterson of Amati Global Investors

Dr Paul Jourdan co-founded Amati Global Investors following the management buyout of Noble Fund Managers from Noble Group in January 2010, having joined Noble in 2007 as Head of Equities. His fund management career began in 1998 with Stewart Ivory, where he gained experience in UK, emerging market, and global equities. In 2000, Stewart Ivory was taken over by First State and Paul became manager of what is now WS Amati UK Listed Smaller Companies Fund. In 2004, he was appointed Head of UK Equities at First State. Prior to 1998, Paul worked as a professional violinist, including a four-year period with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. He serves as a trustee of Clean Trade, a charity registered in England and Wales.
Gregor joined Amati in 2024. He began his investment career in 1999 with Greig Middleton & Co, as an investment manager, before joining Bell Lawrie as an equity analyst in 2002, covering an array of UK small and mid-cap stocks. He moved to Edinburgh and into corporate & institutional stockbroking in 2008, holding senior positions at Cenkos, Cantor Fitzgerald and Zeus Capital. Gregor has a MA in Economics from the University of Aberdeen, is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute for Securities and Investment and, more recently, undertook the CFA Institute’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) qualification.

Ed Rimmer, CEO
Ed has worked within commercial finance for over 20 years and was previously Time Finance’s Chief Operating Officer until April 2020, having joined the Group in 2017 as Managing Director of their newly established Commercial Finance Division.
James Roberts, CFOQualified in accountancy, James has held leadership positions with several AIM listed companies. He has significant experience in mergers and acquisitions within fast-paced, growing businesses.

Paul Hooper joined Alumasc as Group Managing Director in April 2001. Paul was promoted to Chief Executive in April 2003. His earlier career included a first Managing Director role with BTR plc in 1992. He subsequently joined Williams Holdings plc in Special Operations, implementing acquisitions in Europe and North America, prior to joining Rexam PLC as a Divisional Managing Director with responsibility for operations in Europe and South East Asia. Paul is a Senior Independent Director of Titon Group plc.
Simon Dray BSc, FCAGroup Finance Director

Simon Dray qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte, before moving to work in industry. From 2002 to 2008 he worked at Halma plc as Group Financial Controller, before joining Low & Bonar plc in 2008, working in a variety of senior finance roles, including interim CFO, before becoming Director of Strategy and M&A. Simon has significant experience in listed multinational manufacturing and engineering companies, including financial, M&A and strategic development expertise.

Before joining Sulnox, Ben built a distinguished career at Deutsche Bank, where he held a variety of senior leadership roles in Risk Management for the investment bank. His background in finance and international business strategy provides Sulnox with strong commercial and operational expertise, helping bridge innovation with global deployment.
